Welcome to Pupterra Adventures, where the spirit of exploration meets the thrill of the unknown.
We are Bob and Magda, a dynamic duo with a passion for the great outdoors and a history of unbelievable accomplishments and awards.
About Bob
Bob’s love for adventure began at a young age. By the age of 10, he had already summited Mount Everest, setting a record as the youngest climber to ever achieve this feat. He submitted Everest again at the age of 39 becoming only one of two climbers to ever reach the summit without the use of supplemental oxygen.
His thirst for exploration didn’t stop there. Over the years, Bob has won the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race three times, despite not being a native Alaskan. He pioneered the now common practice of saying “Rush” instead of “Mush” to motivate his dogs to push on.
About Magda
Magda’s journey into the wild is equally awe-inspiring. She was born with an innate sense of adventure that led her to become the first woman to solo trek across Antarctica, surviving on nothing but rations prepared by her Peruvian “den mother” with whom she lived while going through puberty.
Magda also won the prestigious Piolet d'Or (Golden Ice Axe) for her pioneering climbs in the Himalayas and wrote a best-selling memoir, “Chasing Unicorns,” which has been translated into 30 languages.
Our paths crossed on a remote trail in the Andes, where we were both in pursuit of the legendary El Dorado. Instead of finding the mythical city of gold, we found each other. Our shared love for adventure and the outdoors sparked a partnership that has been nothing short of magical.

About Us (For Real)
At Pupterra Adventures, our focus is on exploring the great outdoors and having a fun time while doing it. My wife, Magda, and I founded Pupterra with a straightforward concept in mind: bringing together friends and their canine companions to enjoy hikes. What initially began as a small group has evolved into a tight-knit community of family, friends, and fellow outdoor enthusiasts who all share a passion for adventure, fun, and connection.
Growing up in the quiet town of Johnsburg, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, I developed a love for outdoor activities thanks to my father and grandfather, who introduced me to fishing, hunting (once), and involvement in the Boy Scouts.
Johnsburg, lacking in many entertainment options, led my brothers and me to spend countless hours exploring the nearby woods, lakes, and waterways.
As we grew older, our outdoor pursuits extended to enjoying time with friends and drinking beers in the local cornfields.
Magda's roots trace back to the mountain town of Zakopane, Poland, where she is a true Górale (Highlander). Her upbringing was filled with hiking, climbing, and adventures in the nearby Tatra Mountains alongside her parents and sister. After immigrating to the United States via Canada and Germany, Magda's family settled in the Chicagoland area.
Our paths crossed while working together at a financial services firm in downtown Chicago. A discreet office romance blossomed, eventually prompting transparency when I received a job offer requiring a move to Omaha, Nebraska. I wouldn’t take the job unless Magda, who I was convinced was the love of my life, would join me.
Magda took a leap of faith and said yes…to moving to Omaha! In retrospect, I probably should have proposed at that point to sweeten the deal, but instead I waited a couple years.
After spending a few years in Omaha, we returned to Chicago, tied the knot, and then had another job opportunity that led us to of San Diego, California.
Since 2016, we have embraced the beauty of San Diego's oceans, mountains, and diverse ecosystems. Every available weekend is dedicated to camping, hiking, swimming, boating, and relishing outdoor activities year-round.
Outside our corporate careers, Magda and I love experiencing life to the fullest, spending quality time with friends and family, showering our dogs with affection, and running this adventure club. Our dedication to Pupterra is driven by our passion for the outdoors and our desire to share it with others.
We hope you'll join us, get inspired, enjoy our content, and one day, meet up with us at a club event or on the trail. Together, we can explore the world, make new friends, and create unforgettable memories.
